About Us

Captiva Lighting Consultants leverages the talents of its founder, Gina Jackson, LC, LEED AP ID+C. With a background in Interior Design and Engineering, Gina is well versed in the concepts and principals of lighting design as it relates to other design disciplines. She also has a clear understanding of client relationships and design as a profession.

As an internal consultant to architecture and interiors studios for lighting, Gina has been heavily involved in a variety of projects from concept through construction. Her experience includes both interior and exterior/ site lighting, production of reflected ceiling plans and specifications, submittal review, value engineering, controls, computerized modeling, and code compliance. She has also produced and taught several training sessions to studios as well as teaching lighting design to art and design students at Columbia College.

Her strengths lie in her ability to see the project as a whole, to understand the needs as well as limitations of the building, budget and client. Having worked within the interiors studio, Gina can integrate the lighting into the overall design, and use the lighting to enhance the architectural details while not overwhelming the space.

Ms. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science of Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University and an Applied Arts Degree from Harrington Institute of Interior Design. She is certified by the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions and a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC.
